Deepak Chopra launches Graphic Novel on the life of "Buddha"

Liquid Comics has announced that it will be collaborating with New York Times bestselling author, Deepak Chopra (The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, The Book of Secrets), and publishing partner Dynamite Entertainment, on a graphic novel adaptation of Chopra‘s, New York Times bestselling novel entitled, "Buddha: A Story of Enlightenment." The 160-page, hardcover graphic novel will be available in bookstores nationwide on Dec 14th with a digital Apple iPad version also available before the end of the year.Gotham Chopra, Co-Founder of Liquid Comics, oversaw and edited the graphic novel adaptation, which was produced by Liquid‘s studio of young talented artists in India and led by acclaimed illustrator, Dean Hyrapiet.

"Buddha‘s story from shedding his royal robes to taking on his monastic ones, from abandoning the false promises of materialism to understanding the truth that lurks in self-understanding, is one of the most powerful and insightful stories human civilization has ever known," commented, Deepak Chopra. "To be able to bring that story to a whole new audience through a graphic novel re-telling with the help of Josh Dysart and Dean Hyrapiet is something I am very proud of."Deepak Chopra brings the Buddha back to life in this stunning graphic novel adaptation of his fictional look at one of the most iconic figures in philosophy and spiritualism. Chopra worked with prolific graphic novel writer, Joshua Dysart (Greendale, Unknown Soldier), on this new adaptation of his novel.

A young man in line for the throne is trapped in his father‘s kingdom and yearns for the outside world. Betrayed by those closest to him, Siddhartha abandons his palace and princely title. Alone and face-to-face with his demons, he becomes a wandering monk and embarks on a spiritual journey that carries him to the brink of death, but ultimately leads him to enlightenment. Although we know Buddha today as an icon of peace and serenity, his life story was a tumultuous and spellbinding affair filled with love and sex, murder and loss, struggle and surrender."We are thrilled to bring Deepak‘s explosive epic to life through the visual medium of graphic novels," Liquid Comics Co-Founder & CEO, Sharad Devarajan added. "In addition to the printed edition, the Buddha digital comic books are available through Scribd.com, the Sony Reader Store and later this month through the iPad."

Windows Phone 7 by Microsoft

Not to be outdone by the milestones of Google’s mobile operating system Android, Microsoft also cooked up its own: Windows Phone 7. It recently launched in the US and Canada, Singapore, Europe and Australia. Asia won’t be far behind this 2011. It was released during the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona and so far, the feedback is positive.
Windows Phone 7 is the direct descendant of Windows Mobile and here are some of the new integrated features:
- cut, copy and paste
- Adobe Flash
- YouTube video-playing app

Games can be played as well and they will source from the XBox Live well. Upon its release, however, there were complaints that it lacked APIs or Application Programming Interfaces. Microsoft has also repeatedly stated that they will be strict with its content restrictions so good luck with hackers. But if gamers found it easy to hack the Microsoft Kinect, how long before the Windows Phone 7 is left untouched.

Here are more of the system requirements your device must have to operate Windows Phone 7:
- Capacitive, 4-point multi-touch screen with WVGA (800×480) resolution
- 1 GHz ARM v7 “Cortex/Scorpion” or better processor
- DirectX9 rendering-capable GPU
- 256MB of RAM with at least 8GB of Flash memory
- Accelerometer with compass, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and Assisted GPS
- 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash
- FM radio tuner
- 6 dedicated hardware buttons – back, Start, search, camera, power/sleep and Volume Up and Down
